This question comes up often. What length rod should I use for ultralight bass fishing? It isn’t an easy answer though. There is a couple things to consider about length when choosing a new rod.
Most anglers feel that you should go to a shorter rod around 4.5 feet, or 5 feet long or so. A common occurring thing that I see is people thinking that these rods have more flex and whip to them, allowing you to cast farther.

The right fishing pole is necessary for you to be able to catch fish. Poles that are too long will not offer you enough control over the fishing line. Poles that are too short may snap easily when you are trying to reel in a fish. The right pole is usually determined by your height and the types of fish you want to catch. Larger fish will require thicker fishing line and a thicker fishing pole in order to stand the tension placed on the line.
Common types of fishing rods include fly fishing rods, ultra-light fishing rods, carbon fiber rod, spin casting rods, spinning rods, and ice fishing rods. Each of...

Fishing is about being with nature and for those who have been doing it for a very long time; it takes more than just a simple fishing rod and bait. For others though who want to try it and perhaps do it more often, investing in the right tools and accessories will make it a worthwhile experience and at the same time enable the person to catch a lot of fish.
The most important piece of equipment is the rod. For beginners, the basic rod and some bait will do. During this time, the type of material used and the features it has is not important. What matters is getting the feel of it and having fun. When...

In order to “string” a fishing pole you need to look carefully at the pole and see if there is a recommended line strength shown. If this is the first time you’ve ever done this task, listen carefully.. YOU CAN DO IT!

1. Buy a quality mono-filament line of the recommended line weight for the fishing pole you’ll be using.
2. Determine whether the rod you’ll be stringing is a spinning rod, bait casting rod, ultra light, deep sea rod or a surf stick. If it’s anything other than a spinning rod...
