Of the most memorable moments in a person’s life, holidays spent with family or friends would usually top the list. Be it kids, teens or adults, holidays are enjoyed by all alike. Holidays are time to relax, have fun, and spend time with loved ones. What could be more exciting than a camping trip to mountains? Nature mesmerizes one and all with its beauty and pulchritude. And camping with near and dear in solitude, amidst the fresh breeze and breath taking views, would surely leave indelible and sanguine memories in every one’s hearts.

But before going for camping there are many things that are to be kept in mind, to ensure a safe and enchanting trip.

WEATHER

The very first thing you need to decide is how the weather would be at the place you have selected for camping. Autumn and spring are the best seasons to go for a camping in the mountains.

FIRST AID

Camping trips are usually accompanied with lot of mischief and adventure. Hence, its safe to have a first aid box containing variety of antibiotic ointments, bandages, and alcohol or peroxide to clean a wound. It would also be a good idea to carry a sunscreen and a bug-repellant along.

LIGHTS

Since it gets very dark in the mountains when the sun goes down, carrying battery-powered lights, along with extra batteries are a necessity.

FOOD AND WATER

Clean water for cooking and drinking is the prime necessity. Also food needs to be kept on ice to prevent it from spoiling. Hence it is better to have instant ready-to-eat foods, so that you can unh wheneer you feel hungry. Plastic containers with lids are optimal for keeping animals from smelling and being attracted to food. It would be ideal to keep food in the car, to prevent its access from animals.

WATERPROOFING

Since Nature is unpredictable on the mountains, it’s necessary to have waterproof tents. It’s also a good idea to have extra plastic sheeting to keep things dry as well as plenty of dry clothes to change into.

CHOOSING A PERFECT TENT SPOT

Before you can choose the ultimate place for your tent, you must decide where it is you want to sleep. The destination can play a huge factor in getting a peaceful nights rest which is very important to enjoy the next day. Just choosing a flat tent spot isn’t good enough. To have the best camping experience it is essential that we choose a place which is in close proximity with nature and is also away from crowds.
