This question comes up often. What length rod should I use for ultralight bass fishing? It isn’t an easy answer though. There is a couple things to consider about length when choosing a new rod.
Most anglers feel that you should go to a shorter rod around 4.5 feet, or 5 feet long or so. A common occurring thing that I see is people thinking that these rods have more flex and whip to them, allowing you to cast farther.
Rods of this length are usually used solely for creek fishing, or places where there is a lot of overhead hanging cover for baits to get stuck in. These short...

One of the most important tools for catching fish is the fishing accommodation rod. The act of fishing accommodation is very relaxing, invigorating and it tells a thing or two about how aquatic life is and also the lesson of being patient.ofcourse, eating what you caught is a high in itself. There is very good competition between many of the fishermen and they try and oust the other by one way or the other. Using the right kind of tools can help to attain success and come out as the winner.
One of the first and foremost considerations to having the right tool is to choose what you want to catch. When...

There are so many ice fishing locations around the world to choose from. Just make sure that you are not thinking of tropical regions when you make that choice. Some of the countries that you may want to think about are Canada, America, Russia, Norway, and countries in the northern regions. Most of the greatest ice fishing locations are just hours away from cities with airports to fly into and shops to get all the gear that you need.
In Canada most of the lakes that freeze over in the winter are usually surrounded by shops and guides that are there specifically for the ice fishing season. Those shops...

Sports like any other recreational activities require both good mental alertness and physical strength. But like any every sport, each athlete needs good equipment to perform well. An experienced tennis player has three or more rockets inside his or her tennis bag whenever it goes to practice or games.
In the case of fishing, whether fishing sports or just fishing-for-fun, you will always need good equipment to get better catch each time you dip your rod into the waters.
People that are new into fishing or not really into fishing thought that all you need in fishing is a rod, line, reels and a pail of...

Turkeys can be hunted with many different arms, including guns and bows. Turkeys are very wary and fast and therefore, hunting with knives or similar is just not possible. Whenever a hunter goes hunting for turkey, he has to make sure that he checks the local hunting laws and regulations in regards to arms. Generally these laws allow a shotgun with a gauge somewhere between gauge 10 to 20 and shot sizes between #4 and #6, as well as bows. Bow pulls must be similar to bows allowed for deer hunting. Some places even allow rifles and handguns as hunting gear during fall.
When turkey hunting with a...

I also like to call this list ten things my Dad taught me about fishing. Fishing has always been an important part of my life. My Dad used to take me fishing all the time, in fact, “take a kid fishing” was a rule he lived by. He showed me how to fish, the best bait to use while fishing, and methods to catch more fish. Sure this list isn’t everything you need to know about fishing but using these basic techniques will insure you to have a “good day fishing.”
1. Always set the hook properly. Make sure your fish is hooked before you start reeling.
2. Keep steady pressure on...

A lot of people know boxer dogs to be one of the most versatile breeds around, having the capability of adapting to any role, such as that of a guard dog, a police dog, a seeing-eye dog for the blind, a family pet or a working dog.
What few know is that the boxer dog actually originates from a breed that was primarily trained and used for hunting purposes, the Belgian Brabanter Bullenbeisser. In order to understand how hunting boxer dogs can be made efficient, we first need to go back a few hundred years and take a short look at the Brabanter Bullenbeisser.
The Brabanter Bullenbeisser was the hunting...

The right fishing pole is necessary for you to be able to catch fish. Poles that are too long will not offer you enough control over the fishing line. Poles that are too short may snap easily when you are trying to reel in a fish. The right pole is usually determined by your height and the types of fish you want to catch. Larger fish will require thicker fishing line and a thicker fishing pole in order to stand the tension placed on the line.
Common types of fishing rods include fly fishing rods, ultra-light fishing rods, carbon fiber rod, spin casting rods, spinning rods, and ice fishing rods. Each of...

If you use a landing net when fly fishing you will definitely land more fish, the art of using a fly fishing net is to play the fish as you normally would until the fish is within range, then submerge the net under the water and ease the fish over the net and lift it out of the water. You do not want to make any sudden movements with the net at this point as this will spook the fish, and after an exhilarating fight with the fish you want to give yourself the best chance of landing it.rrThere are lots of different types of fly fishing nets to choose from, the most common is the mesh type nets, some of...
